Pet Microchipping

A microchipped pet is a safe pet.

Have the cat who won’t stay home or the dog who loves escaping for solo adventures?

At Animal Medical Center our veterinarians suggest that every cat and dog receive a microchip for their safety and for your peace of mind.

Dog and cat microchipping is a simple procedure, no anaesthetic required! Your pet can receive their microchip during a routine wellness exam. We simply insert a small, rice-size chip between your pet’s shoulder blades and under the skin. The process is similar to a routine shot, takes only a few seconds, and your pet will not react any more than he would to a vaccination.

The microchip is embedded with a unique identification number capable of being read by hand-held scanners in shelters and animal hospitals across the country. The chip contains information such as your pet’s name, your contact information, and our hospital’s information, giving you the best possible chance to be reunited with your pet.
